Margaret Ledger shares her connection with St Mary's Church:

'St Mary’s Church was consecrated on 18th may 1887. It was built because the congregation had outgrown the previous meeting place at ‘Pit Row’.

Whenever photos of the church appear on local Facebook pages they attract lots of likes and comments. There are many memories—one person’s memory leading on to a whole thread of comments and memories from more people.

I have my own significant life event connections—christened in St Mary’s (as were my husband and son) and married there. I was ordained in 2004 and since then have served as a priest in this local community.'
